Privacy and cookies

What this site collects, why, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • If you fill in the form, I get what you typed, and I use it only to reply to you.
  • Analytics cookies are set only if you press "Accept". If you decline, visits are counted without cookies and without identifying you.
  • I don't sell your details or add you to a mailing list.
  • You can change your mind at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page.

Who is responsible

Inverurie Web Studio is a trading name of Martina Sartor Ltd, company no. 11042203, registered in England and Wales. The company decides how your information is used and is responsible for looking after it.

If you get in touch

What I collect

Your email address, and your business name and message if you choose to add them.

Why

To reply to you and, if you'd like to go ahead, to arrange a conversation about your website.

How it reaches me

The form is delivered by a form service called Formspree, which passes your message to my inbox and keeps a copy in my account there.

How long I keep it

For as long as we're in contact about a project. If nothing comes of it, ask me to delete it at any time and I will.

Analytics and cookies

What is used

Google Analytics, a tool from Google that shows how visitors use the site. It sets cookies only if you agree to them.

What it records if you accept

  • How you arrived, for example from a search or a link.
  • Which pages and sections you looked at and how far you scrolled.
  • Which buttons and links you pressed, and whether you started or sent the form.
  • The kind of device and browser you used, and your approximate area, such as the town.

It does not record your name, your email address or anything you type into the form.

The cookies

If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies whose names begin with "_ga". They let it tell one visit from another and last up to two years. Your choice itself is remembered in your browser, so you aren't asked on every visit.

If you decline

No cookies are set. Google Analytics still receives a basic, cookieless count of the visit, such as the page viewed and which buttons were pressed, but it cannot recognise you or link one visit to another. The site works exactly the same.

Changing your mind

Press Cookie settings here or at the bottom of any page and choose again.

Who else handles your information

  • Formspree delivers form messages.
  • Google provides analytics, if you accept it.
  • Vercel hosts the website, and keeps standard technical logs of requests to the site.

Some of these companies are based in the United States and may process information there. Nobody else is given your details.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information held about you, have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent to analytics. To do any of these, use the form on the main page and I'll reply personally.

If you're unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
